For my obersvation, I observed Starbucks here on campus. The coffee shop isn't really big, but a lot of students and staff come in and out. When you first walk in you notice the counter where to order and the line forms in the middle of the small area. It almost seperates the left side from the right side when the line gets long enough. When I was there many students walked through and ordered their coffee. I noticed most of them carried their bookbags or big purses. I assumed they were going to the library to do some work right after since the libarary and Starbucks are connected. There were a select few people who sat down and enjoyed and talked to friends. Some conversations I heard were about their week home and what they did but for the most part it was fairly quiet. I also noticed only a couple people who did sit down in Starbucks do their homework right there. I think a lot of college kids go there because it is convienient when they need to go to the library and know its going to be a late night because I have done it before. Then I noticed more girls than guys came in. When I heard them order some knew exactly what they wanted and others it took them a few minutes to make a decision. While people waited in line some texted and others chatted with friends.
